The Masters

The 2013 Masters was a notable year at Augusta.  There were three notable stories the first Aussie winning, Tiger Wood's penalty, and a 14 year old from China playing.

Adam Scott was the first Australian to ever win the Masters on Sunday.  Scott learned the tough lesson of controlling himself in pressured situations from his experience at the British Open last summer.  Scott lead the tournament by four strokes with four holes left and bogeyed his way in to lose by one.  This time Scott made 2 amazing putts on his last hole and in the playoff to get the job done.

Tiger came into the tournament with high expectations had a tough day Saturday.  Woods took an illegal drop on the 15th hole and it wasn't discovered until after his round.  He received a two shot penalty.  If the illegal drop was seen as he hit it he would've been disqualified.  Woods finished the tournament in fourth place at five under par.

The fourteen year old named Tianlang Guan was the youngest to ever play in a major.  Guan barely made the cut after receiving a penalty for slow play.  He continued to shoot twelve over par and was the low amateur of the tournament.

I think it is great Scott can come back after a tough loss last year and win a major.  He showed more grit and fight than I have seen him play with before.  I think a big part of his win was his caddy who was formerly Tiger's caddy.  On the other hand, I feel bad for Tiger because I think he wasn't aware of his illegal drop.  It was a tough break, but he will be back.  Lastly, I think Guan has become ever young golfers idol for his accomplishments in the Masters.
